To be able to screen your film in the best quality possible, please follow these requirements.
Screening file requirements
- Send either an H.264 or ProRes file as .mp4 or .mov — we do not screen DCPs.
- We prefer a stereo mix to ensure the best possible sound.
- Avoid unnecessary letterboxing in the video file
(exception: if the aspect ratio intentionally changes during the film). - All films must have English subtitles, regardless of spoken language.
Subtitles may be burned in or supplied as a separate .srt file.
Upload the file via FileMail or send us a download link to film@amandusfestivalen.no by 13 September.
- If you use a time-limited sharing service, please set the expiry to after the festival (26 September). This ensures we have a backup in case anything happens to the file we download and use.
If no screening file is provided:
We will attempt to screen the version submitted via FilmFreeway. These files may not meet all requirements and are often more compressed, so we cannot guarantee satisfactory screening quality. In the worst case, we may not be able to screen the film (for example, if English subtitles are not available).
