Official Selection for Amandus Blikkfang 2026

We can finally reveal the films in the official selection at this year’s Amandus Blikkfang.

With nearly 240 submitted films, it has been a big job for the selection committee to pick the films that are granted a place in this year’s program.

The selected films showcase a great variety of cinematic expressions, genres, themes and topics. They represent a wide range of film education programmes and films by young filmmakers from all over the Nordic countries.

As usual, the program consists mostly of Norwegian films, but there is also a substantial number of great films from the rest of the Nordic countries. This year, all five countries are represented. It should also be noted that a majority of the directors in the selection are women.

Selecting these films also means that a lot of fantastic films unfortunately didn’t make the cut. This doesn’t necessarily mean that a film that wasn’t selected wasn’t good enough, but that some hard choices and priorities had to be made.

We are looking forward to presenting these 36 films at the festival, September 24–26.

The selection has been done by a group of filmmakers, film students and the festival administration: Eivind Myklebost Nordengen, Line Øverli Løvly, Frøydis Fossli Moe, Thoams Wist, Sverre-Leander Sundset, Marie Strand Paalerud, Petter Holsbø Angvik and Eivind Giæver.
